I am not a sports guy. At all. Can't name half the teams in any league. I know three: Bears, Bulls, Cubs. Illinois kid. That's basically required.
Bulls were fun when Jordan was around. Then he quit right when I moved to Chicago. Figures.
But the Cubs. THE CUBS! For the first time in 95 years they're actually in contention for a World Series spot. I started paying attention during the Atlanta series. Now I've watched all three NLCS games and last night's was unreal. Best baseball game I've ever seen. Tuned in at the 7th inning, it was tied, went back and forth, and then that one guy (I still don't know any of their names...give me a break) got tagged out between 2nd and 3rd. Incredible.
Then I looked at the clock. Two hours gone. Just from the 7th inning through overtime. And I remembered exactly why I never watch sports: they eat your whole day. If I did this all season I'd never get anything done. This site would never get updated.
Plan: watch as many playoff games as possible. Cubs win the World Series. Go back to not caring about sports. At least I can say I was there.
