Status of the iPhone Developer Program
They announced in the keynote that the iPhone SDK had been downloaded over 200,000 times. Of those, about 25,000 people applied to the paid iPhone Developer Program. Of those, they have accepted only 4,000 applications. One of those was mine. I’m feeling pretty good about that right now.
Most people are still stuck running their apps in the Simulator. Let me tell you, it just ain’t the same. Not even close.

A Recap on My WWDC Predictions

GPS
The App Store will not be ready on Day 1 (meaning today).
Thinner design.
A normal headphone jack.
Increased battery life.
New colors…I was thinking red, but for some ungodly reason they went with white…LOLWUT?

WWDC 2008 - Monday
Well, today was a very good day. So far, the WWDC has not disappointed. I posted just about everything on my Twitter feed, in real-time, and, to my utter surprise, Twitter did not blow up under the stress (including the thousands of others doing the same).
The iPhone 3G has finally been announced. Much of the announcement was anticipated and there were a number of disappointments for me, but more about that later.

Zazzle Comes Through
I came to San Francisco shirtless. Well, almost. I did have my excellent Daring Fireball t-shirt that says “Your PC is a POS” and which garnered me numerous compliments at today’s WWDC sessions. I like to make an impression. LOL And this week, I wanted to express my full geekness. I was reading a fellow Mac coders blog and he mentioned some t-shirts that he had made up and was selling in Zazzle.

Tomorrow's Keynote Plan and my iPhone Predictions
Well, the big day is finally upon us. Tomorrow Steve Jobs will most likely announce the iPhone 2.0 with 3G networking and some other neat upgrades. I am in San Francisco for the epic event and will be sporting an excellent black Daring Fireball T-shirt that says “Your PC is a POS”.
As it happens, I will be arriving fairly late in the morning compared to most everyone else. There are a few reasons for this.

Arrived in San Francisco
Well, the flight was pretty decent. They showed the movie Fool’s Gold, which I did not watch - because I was working - but which looked very intriguing and thus, will be picked up for future viewing.
Spent most of my time testing Objective-C code to post keystrokes from one application to another. Who knows what that could be used for.
Waited about 10 minutes for my checked bag. Twenty minute taxi from the airport to the San Francisco Omni Hotel, which is walking distance to the Moscone Center where the WWDC is being held.

Here’s the link to the various meetups that are happening throughout the week. Pretty sure I’m gonna skip out on Tuesday night’s WWDC Drinking Contest.
