New and Noteworthy
The site went through a complete graphical redesign posted on October 6th.
I am currently on contract at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu in Deerfield, Illinois working on the Deloitte Platform. My resume will be updated with this experience soon.
I posted my first article on the site. The article demonstrates implementing the Sieve of Erastosthenes in C# to find prime numbers.

Finding Prime Numbers with C#
This class, PrimeFinder, has two methods. The Find method takes the piMax parameter and finds all prime numbers between 0 and piMax. The Print method dumps the list of prime numbers from piStart to piMax, for example, between 1,000 and 100,000. With the int type, this class works well for primes up to approximately 14,000,000.
The Find method uses the algorithm known as the Sieve of Eratosthenes to identify prime numbers.

Manually Removing a Vignette Installation
In the event that one or more CDS or OMS machines are installed and the CMS has been removed, going into Add / Remove Programs and uninstalling Vignette will fail with a message that Vignette must be “unconfigured” first. Unfortunately, without the CMS running, nothing can be removed in the Platform Manager and so the whole installation must be removed manually.
Stop all services and then set them to Disabled.

October 6th, 2002 - Version 1.1
It’s been a few months but I’ve finally gotten around to updating my professional site. I got rid of the left side navigation since the site only has a few areas of content. I added the JavaScript menu at the top of the site and redesigned the site to fit in 640x480 windows. I also finally got the site listed on Yahoo and have added appropriate keywords so that the site will show up in listings more accurately.

Rear window wipers
Does anyone actually use these things??? It’s pouring rain in Chicago and driving down the road this afternoon I haven’t seen a single person with them on despite seeing many cars with this option installed. Go figure. I use mine.

Thirty-something
Well, today is the big day (for me) - I have finally turned 31 and am officially, “thirty-something” as Ketra has reminded me. Didn’t there used to be some TV show called thirty-something? Probably I didn’t ever watch it because the age of 30 seemed quite far away. I can think of friends I haven’t seen in awhile where the “while” has gotten to be about 8 years or more even though it seems like last month.

Working on Genealogy
I have a large family. The Sieg family in the McLean county area of Illinois alone has well over 100 members. In fact, about 60-70 of these get together every year in the summer for a Sieg reunion. I am working on publishing the history and genealogy of the Sieg family online.
All of the Siegs in McLean country are descended from a single family that came to the United States from Germany in the late 1800s.
